Welcome to the Grantham Historical Society website. An important part of the society’s mission is the promotion of the town’s considerable history and helping people to understand its importance. Our website is an essential tool for this purpose. On it you will find our mission, a brief history of the town, and news and events, plus links to genealogy, publications, our small but growing library, and membership information. Like the organization itself, our website will evolve over time and will include audio/visual presentations, video, and relevant historical publications, much of which we hope to make available for download. To honor Allen for his many contributions to our town, all town residents are invited to a gathering at the Town Hall on Sunday, September 19, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The Historical Society is hosting this event as our way of saying thank you to Allen upon whom we rely for so much of the town’s memory. Tributes by invited guests will be followed by spontaneous offerings from the audience. Refreshments will be served.
